Adult Sunday School
New Horizons is made up of believers who study the Bible from a new perspective with a different approach – Sunday School from the “backside.” With guidance from a number of materials, Bible studies and commentaries, New Horizons seeks to better understand God’s word from a unique point of view while keeping it accessible and applicable. Class participation is a must! New Horizons meets during the Sunday School hour from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in Room 102. Navigating Through the Word
Navigating Through the Word journeys through the Scriptures, verse by verse, in order to gain a better understanding of God’s message for us. Just as a navigator must learn how to interpret all the contours and symbols of a map, we must also learn how to read the Bible with an understanding of culture, politics, people and historical periods. God has provided all the guidance we need in God’s word. Navigating Through the Word meets during the Sunday School hour from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in Room 109. For information, contact Jeffrey Dreesen at 281-687-6618 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Methodist 101 is a seven-session class for adults who want to learn more about what it means to be a Methodist Christian. The class explores the history of Methodism, starting with John Wesley and the Methodist movement in England, all the way to the early American Methodist Circuit Riders. Special attention is given to the stories of the many lay people who embraced Wesley’s understanding of God’s grace, and how these men and women became the first Americans “…to reform the nation and, in particular, the Church; to spread scriptural holiness over the land.” Methodist 101 is offered throughout the year during the Sunday School hour from 9:30 – 10:30 AM in Room 106. For information, contact Don Risinger, Lay Minister, at 281-594-1062 or email@example.com.
